Nasseff Mechanical Contractors has developed a company culture that strives for the ultimate in customer satisfaction. Since 1972 we have continued to cultivate an organization that continually strives to provide the best product coupled with the greatest overall value for our customers.
Our customers are seeking quality workmanship, 24/7/365 response, and most importantly a partner that is committed to transforming promises into reality...ALWAYS
Besides offering our customers quality workmanship and the ultimate in customer satisfaction, we take serious our obligation to provide a vendor partnership that they can depend on for many years to come. Our customers deserve to depend on a vendor who has a strong financial position, especially during the tough economic times of today. Back in 2008, Nasseff made tough decisions to cut expenses to meet any economic challenges coming down the road. This foresight is why Nasseff is strong today, despite the depressed business climate.
It wasn’t until September 2010 that we saw a chance to further reduce expenses by tackling one of our largest business expense ~~ labor, which totaled $3.1 million in 2010. Our first introduction to AboutTime was like a very special unexpected gift. The more we learned about AboutTime, the faster we wanted to move to get this implemented at Nasseff.
After the initial introduction to AboutTime, they were asked how quickly they could fly out to St. Paul, Minnesota to present to the owner. David Perry from California fought airport delays, bad weather, a long drive from Iowa to Minnesota, and no sleep for over 24 hours to make the Nasseff meeting. We met until almost midnight that evening and two days later the contract was sign! Seven weeks after our first introduction to AboutTime/four weeks after this meeting, Nasseff went live. We have not looked back since.
What sold us on AboutTime was realized and more.
The price point for this product is dead on, allowing our business to make the investment and to see our return on investment better than originally projected. There is no reason why any business can’t choose this. AboutTime prices its product based on the size of the application. No need to try to fit your business in a predetermined size bracket. For Nasseff this was huge.
The field personnel adapted quickly to AboutTime because it was developed on a very simple platform. Our field personnel work with their hands and would rather not do paperwork. Sound familiar? Now they clock IN, select their job & cost code and clock OUT at the end of the day. Bam, done! We are now more connected with the field personnel than we have ever been. And they feel more connected with the office. A great place to be.
Time is now more accurate. Gone are the days of sitting down just before the deadline to turn in timecards and recreating “from memory” what they did during the week. Time is live and the guessing game no longer exists. Time is recorded by the seconds which is as detailed as you can get.
Project management has escalated tremendously. The PMs are now able to check their field personnel anytime during the day to see what jobs they are on. Nasseff has a mix of a lot of small projects (under $100,000) and large projects which will keep the guys moving.
Real time labor data is now available for project managers to make real time decisions about labor hours spent on a project. As an example, a field foreman decided to work 2 hours overtime each day for 5 days. The PM didn’t learn about this until a week later when the damage was done. The job did not allow for overtime and Nasseff ate the difference. If we had AboutTime, that would have been caught first thing the next morning and stopped. This is one example of how Nasseff will save.
Our Service Department’s use of IPads has not only improved the management and accuracy of labor hours, we are in the midst making the entire process paperless & electronic. Work orders will be emailed directly to the customer and the office by the technician, and all preventive maintenance & testing documents will be electronic and stored in the cloud.
AboutTime integrates with numerous software packages. Nasseff uses Maxwell Management Suite. It is amazing to see with a few key strokes how the time exports out of AboutTime into Management Suite. And it did so right from the start. Staff time to process payroll dropped from 7 - 9 hours a week down to 2 hours or under for the entire process. When About Time claims it integrates with your accounting software, it does. They would not make the claim if it didn’t.
Nasseff is not shy to market to our customer base and prospects that we use AboutTime. It brings comfort to our audience that we now accurately report the labor. We like being innovative in the mechanical contracting business in this region demonstrating our forward thinking strategy and cutting edge systems. In the field, when customers witness clocking IN/OUT on BlackBerrys & IPad, interest is peaked.
Our billings get out much sooner than the past which brings the cash in much quicker. Our dependence on the Line Of Credit has diminished and interest expense on the LOC has dropped.
By reading the Nasseff experience, there are more hidden expenses saved that have not been named. With AboutTime, our customers can take us anywhere in the world and we will be ready to go with confidence that not one beat will be missed.
The parallels to the opening statement above and what AboutTime delivers is equal. AboutTime is truly a strong business partner of Nasseff Mechanical Contractors. They transformed their promises into reality.
